Sport Relief at Shipham

13th April 2016
  • Last month, the children of Shipham First School really launched themselves into the spirit of Sport Relief. The school contributed fantastically to the good work done by Sport Relief in the form of a sponsored mile run. Every single child completed the full 8 laps of the school field and thanks to their dedication and their sponsors’ generosity over £900 was raised for the charity. A brilliant achievement for such a small school, every child should be very proud. I’m sure the pupils were spurred on by the knowledge that, if they reached a £100 goal, they would see Miss Fournier drenched with a bucket of icy water. Obviously, they smashed the target and Miss Fournier went through with her pledge in the good spirit of the event. On top of the money raised by the mile run, the school also had a cake sale for Sport Relief. This brings the total amount of money raised by the school to over £1100.
